More to come!

I haven't made many cupcakes lately, however, I have added a new 'list' to my blog. If you look to the right you will see I have 4 bookings for events coming up! Its very exciting. It reminds me of how my photography seemed to take off so quickly also... luckily the photography skills came in handy with my cupcake making! Keep watching, lots more to come!

The Bunnies have been named!

Ask and ye shall receive... mom put in a special request for Nana! I thought she would enjoy a pink bunny!

I added names for all the nieces and nephews for Brian and I... 8 in total! Wow! Even though we won't be seeing little Aaron, I still named a bunny for him and his soon to be sister (just going off what Katie thinks!!! no one knows for sure yet)... I don't know if you can mail food!

Happy St. Patricks's Day

Sorry for the lack of good photos I was in such a rush when I did this! An hour before the end of my day at work on Tuesday I was asked by a co-worker to make cupcakes for his Senior's Clinic in the store the next morning. This was a challenge as I knew I only had 2 hours in between getting home and having to leave for Richmond with Brian to pick up my new car! However, I accepted, stipulating that these were going to be VERY SIMPLE cupcakes!! I rushed off to the store and from the time I got home to the time I loaded all 3 dozen of them up in my fabulous 3 level cupcake carrier (from Dad and Jeanie) it took me 1.5 hours! Am I good or am I good?! Baking green cupcakes, cooling, making icing, decorating and ready to go! Wow. Anyhow, the cupcakes were a huge success and I have asked the store to give me more notice next time so I can really impress!!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cali

Here is Cali's 2nd Birthday Cake, the Princess and the Frog! I hear the chocolate rocks were quite the success at the kids birthday party! And... lucky enough I have gotten to be smart about how kids think and left all my extra princess pieces with Julie so there would be less fights among the kids...

A Decision...

So I decided to let the cupcake website go... I realized I don't have enough time to work on it or the cash to stock a store. Finding suppliers was a huge challenge and alot of the time the cost of importing from the states wouldn't make any profit because of exchange and high shipping costs. I love the blogging and will continue on with that of course. Thanks to everyone for the great compliments and requests for cakes/cupcakes for future events! Can't wait!

Yes, I am a perfectionist!

Yes... I know I already did these! But, in my defence, they weren't nearly as cute the first time and... AND... the colors bled as I think I didnt do the royal icing thick enough. Brian tried to convince me the others were fine but obviously I wasn't listening. So here are some of my much cuter and much improved 2nd round of frogs and princesses for Cali's upcoming birthday cake this coming weekend (they need a few days to dry out that is why I have been working on them so early!)

Duckies for Declan!

Little Declan's first birthday is coming up on Valentine's day! His party is going to be early and since I have such a busy weekend I made the cake last night and it turned out sooooo cute. (below are the step by sep constructing of the cake... its pretty self explainatory!)

Yummmm... bavarian cream! The layers do look a little dark from baking but it doesnt matter... once you cut into it you will see the colorful layers (I will post that later!)

And of course... matching duckie cupcakes! These little ducks were made with melting wafers and a duck mold!

Princess Prep

I spent 3 hours last night on these... for Cali's upcoming birthday, I am just trying to figure out how to best make these fun princess and the frog decals. I tried royal icing using flooding techniques. They have turned out not too bad so far. They probably need a few days drying and the color has bled a little in areas, but over all... pretty darn cute!

Duckie Sugar Cookies

I was given 2 fun cookie cutters by a co-worker of mine so I had to try out the ducks as it goes along with a theme of an upcoming Birthday for my little Nephew Declan. I was too lazy to bring out my better camera! Sorry for the poor quality pictures!

Super cute and very yummy! I made these cookies a bit thicker along with 2 tsps of vanilla... the extra vanilla and thickness of the cookies really add to the flavor and don't make the icing so overwhelming when putting this much icing on a cookie!
